Why can't private funds be raised? We are a very giving nation and those of us who cherish our Veterans would be glad to give a few $$ toward these improvements without the gov't taxes us to do so.

A friend told me many years ago of a study that took the rectal temps of timber wolves, she didn't say what for, just that it was some study by a college on our dime.
I saw a link here today about some research study that came to the shocking conclusion that sex made people happy. I thought, damn, I'm really glad that 30+% of my income goes to taxes, otherwise I never would have known this.
