“Americans must realize demographic trends are not inevitable, the product of mysterious forces beyond their control. Today’s population is the result of yesterday’s immigration policy, and that policy is as clearly broken as its backers’ assurances were facetious. A rational policy will only come about when native Americans place the national interest above liberal howls of “prejudice” and “tribalism.”

“I blame the businesses that employ illegals as well. Few want to actually lay any blame at the feet of the contractors and farmers who joyfully encourage illegal immigrants just so their profit margins are a bit higher.”

Now all we can do is vote the whore/pricks out of office!

Outstanding article. It should be required reading for every member of Congress. Demography is destiny. We are sowing the seeds of our own destruction.

It is LEGAL IMMIGRATION that is the real problem and the most difficult to fix. That is what this article is all about.

Demography is destiny. We are sowing the seeds of our own destruction.

And have been (in this regard) for precisely 42 years.

From yesterday: The president said he had no hesitations about working with Kennedy (on immigration reform)...."The reason why is, he can get the job done," Bush said

That "job" is the third-worldization of the U.S. .....which the President appears to fully support.

1. "Family Reunification" was THE WORST IDEA ever incoporated into immigration law. Thank the Catholic Church for that one (they pushed it heavily at the time).

2. Ironically, it was Eastern and Southern European ethnic associations (the Polish National Alliance being one) that argued from scrapping the old quotas, as they discriminated in favor of the British Isles.

3. The racialists may disagree with me, but I still think that the pre-1965 WERE discriminanatory, unless your argument is that we are a "nation of white men", there is little else you can say to defend your position. I for one don't think we are harmed by manageable numbers of Filipino nurses, East Indian business owners, and Korean professionals. Besides, the Eurotrash aint exactly popping out kids, and there aren't enough that really want to come here anyway.

4. Other than the awful FAMILY REUNIFICATION, the 1965 immigration act has little to do with increasing the numbers of our illegal amigos from Mexico and Central America. In case people forget, we at one time had an open border with Mexico, and the border patrol was founded originally to keep CHINESE immigrants from coming in through our southern border, as well as smugglers.

Again, the MAIN problem with the 1965 act was the asinine FAMILY REUNIFICATION provision. It had NOTHING to do with ILLEGAL Mexicans other than that provision.

Neither do I. But Muslims (of which we now have over 6 million) and other third-worlders that have no desire to assimilate are another story entirely. .....and their numbers are far from "manageable", mainly due to the "family reunification" provision.

-exactly-except it's already too late-----

And now (14 years later) it's way, way too late.
