Do you have a military or intelligence background?
I have never heard the Russian mafia mentioned as political players in Iraq, but Aziz makes me wonder.
It is discouraging that an emigre Iraqi group that wants Saddam out seems to have another agenda.
While I haven't tied Mahmud Al-Muzaffar to Berg in any way, this collection of articles from 1997 was interesting relative to Moscow relationships with Saddam. I am from a family with a long history of military action and service. Personally I was part of the selective service system from age 18 until I became an old fart, but was never called up and was too involved with other things to join up (a case of messed up priorities which I kick myself for...!). Now that I am an old fart I do want to serve but they won't let me in. Therefore I am looking for and engaging other opportunities to aid the military. As for any intelligence background, it's all been non governmental, but yes, I do conduct specialized investigations, risk assessments and other strategic activites as part of my day job. I also follow the governmental side of intel work as sort of a hobby.
