Before 9/11, I sometimes thought becoming Moslem was an improvement for the hard-core prisoners. It appeared to offer some kind of focus and discipline and apparently helped many inmates turn their lives around.
I'm not so sure now. Moslem recruitment could be a subversive activity, converting violent people and focusing them towards the wrong places.
What a mess. Farakhan is one of the biggest public racists out there.
