"This will be spun into a negative by the media. I,however, think it's cool!"
How could you spin this badly?
I think it's great... very poignant, with a nod to history.

I'm sure the DUhers are already saying things like "oh how immature!!! This is why the civilized French don't like us!!!"

Headline will be: "Bush Violating DC Gun Laws with Impunity"
"Some say the President of the United States should set an example of abiding by the law, but President Bush is acting as if he is above the law. DC law prohibits ...."
I am sure the press can do a even better of spinning this as a negative. They hate this President, and will stop at nothing to get a Democrat elected.

How could this be spun badly?
Well, since you asked..
First, one could point out the phallic symbolism of Saddam's captured 'manhood' sitting on the mantle in the White House. Heck why not simply cut off Saddam's genitals, stuff them and hang them on the wall.
This symbolism could be coupled with the general idea that men who like to collect guns, drive large SUV's and generally proclaim their manliness are usually 'compensating' for some other deficiency. The guys who do 'have it' don't need to flaunt it.
Second, this imagery quickly leads to the almost homo-erotic image of the President stroking, fondling or displaying this captured manhood to any interested parties. "Hey, do you want to see it?".."See what?".."Saddam's gun, you know they one they yanked off him when the pulled him from that hole...."
Third, the capture and display of trophies--and the fact that Bush seems especial proud of this one--lends creedence to some of the war critics who saw the war as a personal vendetta between the Bush family and Saddam.
Anyway, I doubt this is an exhaustive spin-job, but since you asked I thought I warn you of what's coming.
