The only people crying for help are the democrats.
They're in a feedback cycle. Dems take turns going further and further with their attacks on Bush - and when they don't get sufficient negative feedback from the press or their constituents (and us rubes in flyover country don't matter), they surmise that their attacks were OK. However, given that Pelosi comes from a safely liberal district in California and Gore was addressing radical libs at moveon.org, and neither is about to read anything that dissents from their views, they don't realize just how far they've drifted from the mainstream.
