Dusty - This is from one of the mesoscale discussions:

ISOLATED SUPERCELL THREAT MAY TRANSITION RAPIDLY TO EVOLUTION OF SQUALL LINE...BUT THREAT OF ISOLATED STRONG TORNADOES EXISTS.

Can you decipher?

yes...storms will rapidly form into a squall line...when that happens tornado threat decreases most of the time..isolated cells form out in front that line that become tornanic

Cf. Science_Made_Stupid, "Looks like rain mebbe, or mebbe not."

Here in Wheaton we just had a heavy downpour with moderate cloud-to-cloud lightning and thunder. Lasted 20-30 min., preceded about an hour ago by a lighter downpour. No wind. Straight down, tropic style.

I spent the time outside managing my hydraulic engineering at the southwest corner of my house. I can see why they have trouble with dams.
