Actually since I expect the House to lose some Dem seats in 2004, she will have a tough time making a case that she should be in a leadership position at all.
It is all about political ambition, not serving her constituants. If the Dems could somehow regain the majority she would be 2nd in the line of succession, behind only the VP, to acsend to the presidency. That is something that, even in her self-delusional mind, she knows she could never attain by the electorial process.
