" ... had already slit the throats of nine people ... "This had been done early on to terrorize into submission the people they had captured.
One by one, to maintain control and further desensitize the hostages, people were murdered in this animalistic way.
And therein is the key to comprehension ...
Every Muslim may not be a murdering terrorist, but every murdering terrorist has been, and is, a Muslim.
It is in the doctrine of Islam to consider all people outside of Islam as less than human ... animals if you will ... and that is why the beheading is so common.
There is not much space left to leap/step over to the recognition that these are human sacrifices ... animals on the altar of blood ... to their Satanic god, allah.

"Every Muslim may not be a murdering terrorist, but every murdering terrorist has been, and is, a Muslim." Really?
Timothy McVeigh was a Muslim? Janet Reno (Waco, Elian) was a Muslim? The IRA people are Muslim? Robert Mugabe and the ZANU-PF people are Muslim? All terrorists.
I'll grant you the Sudanese Government is Muslim.

Every Muslim may not be a murdering terrorist, but every murdering terrorist has been, and is, a Muslim. You nailed it in one sleek sentence.

Well, I have to disagree a little there in the case of Timothy McVeigh but I'm not so sure there wasn't a muslim connection there either.

One of the 'techniques' taught at Salman Pak, according to someone trained there, was the idea of slitting a few throats of hostages or airline passengers, to insure the fearful cooperation of those left alive. It sounds like these Qaeda thugs/murderers were trained at Salman Pak. When the lists of names of persons trained there and from which countries is leaked out, will it embarrass the democrats claiming no ties between al Qaeda and Saddam? Hardly ... the democrats are consummate liars and will lie their way out of culpability for their seditious crap.
