Something that has just occurred to me (and may have been discussed here before, but I just picked up on it). Everyone is positioning themselves for near election catastrophe. June 30 in Iraq may be more important to ME than US elections. Maybe betting on a huge US episode that we will want to pull out before June 30 leaving a country that would be moldable by Iran and militant's hands.
That's a good point.
It's ratcheting up, for sure. Even President Bush mentioned that things will get worse before the June 30 turnover.
