Poison oak which is just about the same as poison ivy (AFAIK) can be relieved but this methods is radical. I don't catch either myself but kids did. This is what we finally discovered, but it is a rather severe method, so use at your own risk!
Strip to underclothes, sit on a sheet, and get some salt, a little coarse is good. Rub the affected areas with the salt. It relieves itching (in a way) and breaks open the rash. Stings, too. Speeds up the healing process very fast. But, as you can see, it is when everything else including patience, fails.
My kids said it helped a lot. We tried everything else, and nothing worked.
What was his mission supposed to be? And don't they have a habit of returning to sites of failed missions?
Most believe it was either the Capitol Building or the White House.
It looks like they were trying to take out our economy, military and government in one swelled foop.
British Gas Prices Hit $5.79 A Gallon Terror Fears Push Prices Up

...the size of a small car...!!!! Nice find. I just wonder that if the do find that it is a meteorite, will there be additional stories to confirm the finding...or will this be another of those stories that we never hear about again. Once I have time later today I will be checking some of the NASA web sites for listings of current meteor activity. They have some sites where they list the date and time of different known objects that are in our current orbit.
Thank you for refreshing my memory.
In other news.....George Tenent resigns...
Nuclear Terrorism Within America a Certainty posted by editor - 3 June, 2004
A nuclear attack by terrorists against the United States is inevitable, according to an American international relations expert visiting the University of Canterbury.
Professor Terry Nardin, a political scientist from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, is using his six-week visit as a Canterbury Fellow to teach theories of international relations.
He will also give two public lectures. The first, this Thursday evening, will look at the influence of religion on international affairs. The second, next Thursday, will consider the cultural impact of the September 11 terror attacks. Last week the US Attorney General, John Ashcroft, said credible intelligence from multiple sources indicated that the al Qaeda terror network was planning an attack on the US in the next few months.
Professor Nardin believes that despite the intelligence sources of the US authorities, terrorist organisations such as al Qaeda are still capable of planning and carrying out attacks.
I see a kind of offence-defence race. Were busy defending ourselves in ways that weve thought of and Al Qaeda people, who are smart, are busy thinking of ways to get around it.
There are so many weapons floating around, theres so little control over nuclear material, biological weapons and so forth, I think its only a matter of time before there is some catastrophic event.
Its not difficult to transport nuclear materials or biological materials around. There may be a gesture of inspecting aircraft luggage and so on but the whole world container trade goes on so people move around and things move around.

Spain Alerts Italy and the UK about Imminent AQ Attacks
La Razón ^ | 6/03/2004 | J. M. Zuloaga

Two Islamist cells with logistical support have been found in [Spain].
Police in Spain, Italy and the UK have been working around the clock to localize several cells of Ansar al Islam, some of whose members have already been identified, who intend to commit attacks against British and Italian targets during President Bushs trip to Europe, antiterrorist sources have informed La Razón. These groups are composed primarily of Algerian fundamentalists, although there are also some Moroccans, and they were trained in the camps of Afghanistan.
The alarm sounded in Europe upon the receipt of completely reliable information that several cells of Ansar al Islam, the terrorist group in the Al Qaeda network led by the Jordanian terrorist Mohammed al Zarkawi, is planning to commit large-scale attacks in Italy and the UK. The commandos have operational and logistical support in Spain, where they may have obtained money and some of the false documentation they use. In theory, according to the sources, it is not believed that they are going to carry out attacks in Spain, although any scenario is possible, given the dangerous nature of the Islamists.
Current investigations are directed at localizing, as soon as possible, a group of Algerian extremists who are already in the UK and Italy to attempt to carry out attacks in the next few days, coinciding with the European tour that the leader of the US begins in Italy tomorrow. The police of these countries, with the close cooperation of the Spanish police, have managed to identify some of the terrorists, some of whom may be Moroccan.
These are experienced terrorists who, according to the sources, received their training in the Al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan, where they learned techniques for the manufacture and placement of explosives and highly destructive weapons.
In May, Judge Baltsar Garzón of the Audiencia Nacional sent three Algerians and one Spaniard to prison for their alleged connection with a terrorist group related to Al Qaeda, and he asked the UK to hand over the alleged head of the group, Heidi Ben Youssef Boudhiba, alias Fathi, who is being held in [England] and who has been connected with the cell that attempted to carry out a ricin attack in London.
It's also known as Jewelweed. Some say it can act as a preventitive, and that by rubbing it on you before you do the yard work, walk in the woods etc... it will prevent the rash from occuring, but I never seem to remember to do that, so I can't comment on that.
The worst kind of terrorism possible is ...... getting poison ivy all over your body. I bet you that this is the terrorist secret weapon...to grow poison ivy all over the US;)
I found it in an old cookbook from my great grandmother when I was around 12. Used it ever since with success. It had lots of other home remedies and simple advice on how to dust (I learned that you should start dusting at the top of things) and be ladylike in the day (comical for todays standards). But her notes and recipes is really neat to have seen.
Sad, but true article.
