Whatever happened to the courageous revolution of the Iranian people to overthrow the mad mullahs?
The Shah was a lot easier to overthrow and he was supposed to be a monster, according to Iranian students in the U.S. at the time. All big talk and the mullahs walk, these days.
The revolution against the Shah started in 1953 and finally ended in 1979. 26 years of consistent demonstrations against the Shah's dictatorship due to the overthrow of a democratically elected government of Dr. Mossadeqh.
Demonstrations against the Mullahs have been consistent, but only started getting strong in 1999.
Be patient.. geez.
Plus, the Shah was a "tyrant" because he imprisoned radical islamists [similar to what we are doing now in Cuba], and fought against Commis like the Mojahedin and the Tudah party similar to what we've always done.
Doesn't sound like much of a tyrant for those specific policies... whatsoever.
