ART: Supervisor Aaron Peskin introduced a resolution condemning recent attacks on the Capobianco Gallery in North Beach but backed off on a plan to hang the controversial "Abuse" painting at City Hall after the artist rejected the idea. Capobianco owner Lori Haigh says she has been physically attacked many times since displaying the artwork, which depicts U.S. soldiers torturing Iraqi prisoners.

Twice has now morphed into "many times?" She should be on life support in intensive care by now. What a trouper!

I guess Pestkin forgot to run his little idea by the artist before he started grandstanding. Oops! ("Psst, over here, Aaron. Artists pay their bills by exhibiting their work where it will sell. Just a pointer.")
