LOL! Referring to Haigh's past activities, what Fenimore calls "controversy" others call "fraud, embezzlement, misappropriation of funds" etc. The next time somebody steals his car, will Fenimore object when the culprit claims he was only engaging in "controversial" activity?
I see you set them straight (and they posted it!) on the letter from the priest.
Abuse painting in City Hall?
Supe wants to show support for gallery.
By J.K. Dineen | Staff Writer
The controversial painting depicting Iraqi prisoner abuse which drove a harassed North Beach gallery owner to shut her doors last week, may soon adorn a much more prominent building: City Hall.

Thanks for the heads up. SF in love with a cause, to hell with the facts.
On a side note, I emailed the SFPD Central Police Station to inquire about the description and any sketches of the alleged perp. Will keep you posted on any replies.
It is time--short of violence that people who aren't brainwashed to the liberal lies stand up and at least shout!
Had to, RG. That poster was clearly trying to imply that Lenihan admitted molesting Haigh, which he most certainly did not. Glad I got that one in before Circa stopped taking posts on this article.
Thanks for contacting the PD. Smooth move! From her account, she must have gotten a real good look at the "assailant" so it's odd indeed that there is no police artist sketch at this point. Why aren't her advocates on the Bd of Supes demanding that such a sketch of the perp be disseminated and publicized? They've already gone to the trouble to arrange for exhibit of Colwell's painting in City Hall, but it seems the public safety issue is being neglected. I wonder why. Is it possible that the investigating officer/s had doubts about her story? From her published statements alone, skepticism is justified.
From KRON news channel 4 (NBC), 5/28...
It was probably her girlfriend.
The violent 4 p.m. attack occurred the day after the painting had been removed from the gallery window. And after Haigh, a single mother of two, had decided to permanently close the Capobianco.
"He cold-cocked me," Haigh said. "He called me a f--king b--ch and said 'I hope your shop goes down the toilet right along with your freedom of expression.'"
So are the police looking for a guy who's got very small hands and throws incredibly effective jabs through small cracks, miraculously breaking a nose and blackening one eye with one blow from his tiny fist? Was this guy so proud of his ability to do this much damage with one blow through "barely a crack" that he wouldn't even push the door open to get a better shot? Wow, now that's what I call Old World craftsmanship!
Sorry, the date on the article linked in post 271 us 5?31.
Make that 5/31
Plus the door opens in and would expose the other side of her face. The side that doesn't show a phony injury.
What puzzles me, aside from what I noted in 271, is why the "attacker" didn't kick the door open to get a clean shot? In that case, the door itself would probably have done a job on her face. But according to her quoted statement, he didn't do that. Was he concerned that he might then be charged with breaking and entering, even though he had no apparent worry about being charged with assault and battery?
It just doesn't hang together, does it?
The distance across the 4 knuckles of my left fist is 3.25"
Let's assume the guy had small hands like I do. "Barely a crack" would have to be about 4" to accomodate this fist and the guy would have had to throw a left. A right jab would have been impossible. The door itself would have prevented him from positioning his body for a right jab. So the guy would either be a lefty or an experienced boxer (or both) -- as well as a guy who is otherwise too well-mannered and law-abiding to push a door open and enter a business uninvited, just to get a better shot at the victim of his assault.
The more I read and the more I think about it, the more convinced I become that the investigating officer knows she's lying. That puts the police in a very bad position since the Supes are taking her story as gospel and calling stridently for an aggressive investigation. It might also explain why the police have not provided the newsies with a suspect sketch. It's now been one full week and still no sketch -- nor have I found a published verbal description of the perp.
If indeed Haigh has left town, I wonder why she's really leaving. Has she committed yet another crime like she did in Nashville? Or is she in enough financial trouble that she has to sell her 4-story house in Twin Peaks to cover her expenses? Or does she need to liquify in order to shelter her assets from yet another lawsuit?
Questions, questions...
