In the article this thread is based on it says Moore was filming an Iraqi business conference that Nick Berg attended on business opportunities over in Iraq.
This can work both ways, moore could also have been recruiting at that conference, since the people at the conference would no doubt be going there.
He said that he has two people of his own there.
