Senate hopeful says he was rocked by foe's backers (Dem union thugs threaten children)

A Republican state Senate challenger claims he was harassed, sworn at and spit on before a campaign luncheon last week by backers of his Democratic incumbent opponent.

Falmouth businessman Tim Duncan said the incident occurred outside a Plymouth country club, where he said 75 to 100 backers of Sen. Therese Murray (D-Plymouth) confronted him.

``People began rocking the car, spitting on the windshield and shouting profanities at me, my wife and children,'' Duncan said.

Several in the crowd waved copies of a Falmouth building permit he had taken out, shouting, ``We know where you live,'' Duncan said.

``It was pretty appalling,'' Duncan said.

Duncan said he, his wife and two children were not hurt and he did not file charges with Plymouth police.

Murray's campaign issued a statement saying, ``If any of her supporters offended her opponent or his family in any way, she offers her apologies.''

The statement said Murray ``does not condone any inappropriate behavior and never had an incident during her previous six campaigns.''

Duncan, 48, is running his first campaign. He recalled his parents taking him to civil rights marches as a youngster, where ``thugs'' with baseball bats and guns threatened the marchers.

``These were different thugs at a different time, but their purpose was the same: intimidation,'' Duncan said.

Murray -- a Democrat gangster in the worst tradition -- is typical of the Liberals that run the Massachusetts legislature.

Sounds like a missed opportunity to play "tank vs. crunchies".

Surrounded and attacked like that, in fear of one's life and the lives of one's family, would likely appeal to any sane jury.

Ah once again following the liberal mantra if we can't win legitimately.... we'll win by any means necessary.

It's worth mentioning that this sort of thing doesn't happen in states with concealed carry laws.

To enable mob violence like this, you must first reassure the mob that the selected victim can't possibly fight back.

If he had his gun with him to protect his family - nobody else would have to worry about the intimidation from those democrat jack-boots.

The Second Amendment proves its worth again - but if you do not exercise your right, you WILL lose it.

I would agree with you on that, but it is such an insult to the storm troopers from Star Wars...... :)

seriously though... I think that hits really close to home. just like the communist unions in Russia and in the early 1900s here there acted as thugs for a political party to "convince" you that your thoughts were wrong.

....but you forget, it would be made up of these same supporters.

"Sounds like a missed opportunity to play "tank vs. crunchies"."

Perhaps nothing so overt. I mean there's no sense in creating an issue.

Maybe just a few of them found in the woods, having disappeared months earlier.

Wow...outside a country club, 75 to 100 thugs, pre-campaign luncheon...I would think there would be witnesses galore to substantiate this event.
Yet none were in the article.
Matter of fact the article consists of exactly one account of the event.
Another fine example of crap journalism.
Every story consists of more than 1 account, all you have to do is find it.

Not in Massachusetts you don't.

Like many other states, the take over has been completed, and you will only get it back by force.

Offended? As if mobbing and shaking his car and threatening to do harm to him at his home were mere rudeness? This was a craven threat.

Drive a vehicle with plenty of reserve horsepower and a manual transmission.

  1. First gear
  2. Depress clutch
  3. RPM to 80% of redline
  4. Steering to clockwise
  5. Dump clutch while maintaining RPM
  6. Steering to counterclockwise
  7. Maintain RPM (burnout) and oscillatory steering until clear of the threat.
  8. Plead panic and fear for your family's safety

An auto tranny would do almost as well. Rev way up in neutral then shift into drive. One might need a transmission rebuild afterward but what is that compared to your life.

PURELY hypothetical of course.

Unless times have changed in recent years, Falmouth, MA has a "Problem" police chief who refused to issue Carry Permits to the Little People.

You're all being lied to, check the video from Duncan's website.
No car rocking, no threats, just a peaceful protest (a Constitutional Right!).
I don't care who's party this guy runs for. This is called lying, and he should be held accountable for it.

See it yourself, and next time don't be so quick to believe one persons account. Whether it's a story you WANT to believe or NOT.

And all it took was a search of a quote!

Sounds like some of the "peace" protestors. Too bad he didn't file charges, there's DNA in spit. Since ya can't have a gun in Mass. maybe some anthrax dispersed from a squirt gun(or is that illegal too) would be useful. They would just get sick and die, never knowing what happened, delicious thought, probably unrealistic.
