Berg's father is a known political operative for the Left. His son was up to something. The public bitterness of the father is way beyond normal bounds, and it suggests that a struggle is occuring in the espionage world that both sides don't want the public to know about.

Berg's dad knows something but can't discuss it because it would totally destroy the left, and his son died because of it. Our military intelligence may have tried to warn Berg to get out of Iraq, but may have deftly left him open to exposure and kidnapping because they knew he was actively suverting our military. Our enemies, knowing that Berg's cover was blown, had one final use for him.

Imagine a kind of espionage/political fandango being waged here/ a kind of stale mating of forces...! Berg's father is grieving and pissed but can do nothing and say nothing with-out blowing his cover as to what his son was truly doing...he knew and he also knows that our intelligence knows..but no one can say a word!

That is my take on what was going on in the Berg case(I do hope I'm wrong)...and if true...I hope the dad suffers a long time with the knowledge of his son's death and the true reasons for it...eating away at him like a slow caustic poison!

Yep...the top of a radio tower is a good place to survey the landscape. And isn't the lamestream media's silence on why Berg was in Iraq deafening?

If the tape offered 5 seconds worth of anything that would help Moore make his 'case' against Bush, it would be in the film, regardless of Berg's parents wishes.

I know I am slow, but what reason would "our intelligence" have for not revealing what you suggest was Berg's spying for the terrorists? The only shred you seem tosay is that they warned Berg but then somehow "left him open". That's appears pretty thin.

Excellent post, and you're right no one can say a word right now. But, if the FBI has pretty tight info that Berg was acting in a subversive manner, is it possible they'll release that info at the point of maximum gain, or is this something we'll never know the truth about?

I have made the following two suggestions in other threads but always made them seperately. Your comment backs up my thoughts.

1. The Berg family may well be a family like the Rosenbergs of the 1940's - 1950's. (Believing Lawyer Sara without proof may be foolish on two counts).

2. Ashcroft's quick press briefing as to the FBI clearing Nick in the computer password/911 terrorist issue was done in a very odd manner. Ashcroft was clumsy and extremely careful in his choice of words and the whole thing was rushed through very quickly without questions asked of him. (It seemed to me the government knows things they don't want the press or public mulling over.)

BUMP TO THE TOP. Reasonable suspicion. The disconcerting and anomalous facts just don't add up to the public story. Attempted subversion by the Left is a possibility. Needs more checking, though.
