Then I'd make sure that plenty of clues (cell phones in unexploded bombs, just like in Madrid) led straight to some of these terrorists who simply walked in over the open Mexican border.
Kerry and the 'rat loving media would have a field day with this theme, 24-7, right up to the election:
"This horrible act of terrorism happened because George W. Bush sent our military to Iraq, and left the border wide open! It's Bush's fault, it's his incompetence! He should have sealed the border after 9-11, instead he sent the Army to Iraq!"
Those ads and new stories will run around the clock, and millions of swing voters will believe them. Those ads will work. They will beat Bush about the head with that message.
(Never mind that Kerry or Gore would be worse for border security, that's irrelevant. The 'rats are natural born liars.)
The borders do need work, Travis. I don't deny that.
I am just so tired of having every thread and every topic hijacked into a border issue.
You hit the nail on the head with that one.
I might also add..
" He has spent billions on Iraq, diverting money that could have been spent protecting us."
I could make the argument that an attack would solidify the Country behind Bush but my gut feeling is that the dims and media would use it to turn the Country toward Kerry.
That despicable bunch would stop at nothing to get him elected. Security be damned.
