Now there's a very interesting scenario.
I'd have a hard time believing Nick talked negatively in the 20 minute interview, whether he was what he said he was, *or* if he was, as you say, was only "passing" as supportive so he could get into Iraq to do misdeeds.
If he was passing, and planned with Moore to look like he had changed his mind... hmmm. Moore would love that.
But then that would really draw attention to himself. Would he want to risk that? He had already been investigated in Oklahoma... surely he'd know that anything he ever did would cause his entire background to be gone over again, with more skepticism, if he tried that...

I haven't yet decided if I think that Nick Berg went to Iraq to do "misdeeds" (by our value system). I am still allowing for the possibility that he was "freelancing" in an effort to not only "visualize world peace" but to actually make it happen.
In other words, he may have been a cross between Pollyanna and James Bond. Possibly, throughout his life he had been so successful in his ability to talk his way through any situation that he just knew that if he could only get to the right people in Iraq, he could work his magic and make things happen.
Unfortunately, to the people he succeeded in connecting with, a Jew is a Jew is a Jew, and therefore someone to be killed, especially if his many encounters with the FBI, etc., raised doubts about his loyalties, his trustworthiness, and his value to them.

Thanks for the ping TT... I was out of town and still have not made it to the end of this thread! Interesting speculation... I'm still looking for facts.
