This is the first that I've heard that Nichols' wife is named "Padilla." What is the relationship if any between her and "Jose Padilla a/k/a John Doe 2?"

I am reading through the thread. Someone may have already posted the info.

Lana Padilla is a Las Vegas real estate agent. She is no relation to the "dirty bomber" Padilla. Nichols married Lana Walsh in 1981. They had a child, Josh, in 1982.

After their divorce Lana married a man named Leonard Padilla (no apparent relation to Jose Padilla). As I recall they are no longer married.

This site has quite a bit of information, most of it squares with what I already knew such as the info on Mrs. Padilla. I believe she has written a book about her life with Nichols and if I recall correctly she too believes that others were involved. I picked the site as a source.
