Back in the mid-1990s, Chalabi and his group, the Iraqi National Congress, were still on speaking terms with the Central Intelligence Agency. When a coup attempt was being cooked up against Saddam, Chalabi warned the CIA that it would fail. It did, and Chalabi was not bashful about defending his prediction-slash-warning.

This excerpt and/or commentary is very confusing, almost worthless. Why are people being called "traitors"? Traitors to who or what, and for having done what?

It is kind of odd that Mowbray appears to be condemning Richard Armitage, Deputy Secretary of State, for attempting to quell the internal state dept. opposition with career-ending threats...isn't Armitage one of the few 'hawks' and therefore, a GOOD GUY???

On another thread, someone speculated that the "fall" of Chalabi was a ruse by the US to garner him popular support in Iraq, so that he could get one of the top spots in the new government.
