Thanks for the pings, and all of the info. I've been totally out of the loop this week. Daughter is gearing up for finals, so I've been up to my eyeballs in kids.
Daughter graduated from PSU last year. After 9/11, I was concerned for her safety, but she wasn't worried at all. She said that the terrorists wouldn't dare hit there. They would lose too many of their own if they did. ;o) BTW, she went into PSU a conservative, and she left even more conservative. They did nothing but confirm her beliefs. She was fortunate to have some liberal professors in her social/cultural classes that didn't mind that she had an opinion different from their own. Thankfully, she was mostly in math and science, so that was not really an issue. But, she did have a physics prof that spent one entire class explaining why we HAD to go into Iraq. The graduation ceremony was a real stinker, though.
AuntB and Gramps, some of your posts sent chills up my spine. I had no idea that such things were going on so close to home. I must live a sheltered life. I think I need to get out more. Maybe I will after she graduates from OSU and OHSU, and I don't have the kids so much.
