No mention of her father at all, I can't help but notice.
If casual sex leads to something more like interns in Albany, Wonkettes and Monicas then it is not to hard to see how the casual exposure to islam's terror created the leaders of 911, some had histories of being "good kids" in American or English colleges, but they went to Pakistan, Afganistan or Kosavo and turn their life to evil.
My link in all of this is that being a little progressive has lead our world in 40 short years to a very difficult time. Few could imagine in 1970 that the favorite actions of 11 year olds, in private schools, would be sex or that the best and brightest of English schools would become terror bombers on a plane flying into the trade center.
Evil is very subtle and is patient.
my arguement is not that topless bars are evil, but that men who kill in the name of conservative religous beliefs have embraced something besides religon...they embraced evil. they could have spent time meeting with their "friends" on the mission in a disco or a fishing boat. They choose something else. They are not religous fanatics so much as they are fanatics.
Can you say "Homeschool"?
This sounds like exactly the sort of bogus non-story that the media would jump all over and try to exaggerate to absurd proportions. I highly doubt there is an epidemic of bracelet-inspired sex sweeping across the nation's prepubescents.
So far I haven't noticed the girls around here wearing them. None of this surprises me, however.
I have always been skeptical of this story because, suppose a fat smelly loser with thick glasses gets the black bracelet . . . I'm thinking this doesn't work even for the sluttiest girls.
My 11 year old daughter brought these bracelets home from school just a few weeks ago..she wore them for a while but they have spent most of their time on her floor.
When I saw this article I called her down from her room and read it out loud to her..she immediately went up to her room...found them and said we need to get rid of these things..she hadn't heard about what they really meant. She handed them to me nand we cut them into pieces and they are now right where they belong...in the trash.
I am very proud of her...for her reaction when she found out the truth..no arguing or bellyaching..she knew the right thing to do and she did it. With Jesus in heart..she didn't have to think twice.....
Possible Urban Legend
Yuk, I certainly hope this is an urban legend, but I doubt it. There is an epidemic of gonorrhea and STD's of the throat in many inner cities, seems the girls who are inducted into gangs must be initiated and perform. I wonder how many of these girls and boys and their parents attend church weekly.
Well said, though it didn't take much patience to get from the Sexual Revolution to the depravity we take for granted today. More like a hop, skip and a jump.
Kind of what I figured. Little girls who are trying to act grown-up by talking about various sex acts but then not actually following through with doing the sex acts (thank goodness).
The quickest way to stop this is for the mothers and the (blech, that's me) grandmothers to start wearing these things.
Granted, they'd have to come up with something new, and granted, it wouldn't STOP the problem...but hey. Who wants their grandma wearing these?
Then beat the tar out of them.
Damn ... Toronto had a reputation for rolling up the sidewalks at 6 PM, going back more than a few years ... to my youth. Boring for a young man in his 'teens ... Montreal was much more exciting. However, had I known about "Madonna Catholic" I might have had a whole different impression of "conservative" Toronto.
I don't think most of the girls wearing these bracelets are aware of the meaning of them. At least in my town, for the girls who wear them (and it's not the majority) it's just a hip fad.
In that picture, doesn't Beelzebubba display a strong resemblance to Ted "Champion Swimmer" Kennedy?
Before I saw this sentence I thought Megan should be sent away to a convent school. Aaaaccckkk!!!
It started with the phrase "oral sex is not sex," or "I did not have sexual relations with that woman..."
