No kidding. I'm just baffled by the various plot lines. The Moussaui connection is simply astounding; if he really was innocent, it's almost unbelievable.
I think it's interesting that the article points out Berg continued his "studies" at Cornell, Drexel, Penn, and Oklahoma. He was an undergraduate. Schools don't just invite undergrads in to start playing in the labs. How does one go from designing "paper bricks" for huts to communication towers?
I suppose the oddities of Mr. Berg's life are amplified by the manner of his death. But I just can't shake the idea that the story isn't complete on him.
This article does have a lot of info but it doesn't exactly ask any hard questions...and takes the word of his friends as absolute, as well as the official explanation that he was cleared in the Moussoui thing, and it completely omits the fact that he was offered a ride out of Iraq by the U.S. gov and said "no thanks."
I for one will continue to search for a story that really goes to the heart of the strange inconsistencies...rather than just chalking it up to "stupid kid who wanted to save the world." In the end that may be the case but I'm not convinced by this story.
