You have to be utterly insane to think a scifi movie is going to create a false awareness of global warming

So my worry about giant ants for the last 40 years has been misplaced? What about those creepy zombies?

I've been worrying for nothing?

It looks like a good "disaster movie" with all the effects.

The only bad thing about it is the political hype attributed to it.

It is only hollywierd fluff and should be seen to have fun.

It's only a movie. I'm going.

Figure it's going to be like Independence Day.

thanks for thinking of us. We are boycotting this solely b/c of Jake "We have to say 'stop', there's no reason for a war. At the moment Hussein is not threatening anybody."
Gyllenhaal

He does not deserve our money...

Algore endorsed what's-his-name, the yelling loser.
Algore is endorsing this movie.
Algore will be cranking up his loony-lib television network.
It's great to be alive!

Don't forget Air America!

Good grief, people. I fully intend to see it. It may not be any good, but I love big disaster movies and I've been looking forward to it for months. When we start calling for boycotts on disaster movies because we don't like what the writer chose as the impetus for the disaster, we look like a bunch of goobs IMO.

Arm yourself with this:

'Day After Tomorrow': A lot of hot air

Can't say I'm boycotting it per se, as I had absolutely no interest in seeing it anyway. But, I'll be sure to not see it even more now. ;)

By all means go see it then, with my blessing! But please at least FReepmail me your personal review. The special effects looked interesting in the trailers (why are they called "trailers"? Even a WSJ article today on their history didn't tell me that!), I might want to rent a video...

The Day After Tomorrow, a disaster movie coming soon to a theater near you. MoveOn.org has touted the film as, "The Movie the White House Doesn't Want You to See."

Haha!

More like "The Movie It's Producers Don't Want Critics to See."

Roger Friedman of FoxNews already called it a "$200 million bomb". Jake Glydenhal is an idiot (playing a homo cowboy in his next film), but I am surprised Dennis Quaid made such a dumb career move. This will make "Ishtar" look like "E.T." by box-office comparison.

On the movie's official website, director Roland Emmerich says his wish for the future is "No more Bush." Shoo. When it's right there on the official website. . . .

I think that Jake kid said something stupid there, too, but I don't know who he is and couldn't be bothered to remember what it was.

According to one review (I think the Fox News one mentioned above), the President is so obviously supposed to be Bush; he's shown as a complete idiot who has to rely on his evil veep to get anything done.

It's definitely boycott-worthy, but like I said, I'm just not seeing it because it looks only slightly more interesting than watching paint dry.

And before some smart guy says anything, I'm talking about the liberal perception of Bush. : )

Art Bell, he who tells of the bumps in the night? somewhat entertaining, but certainly not fact based... used to listen to him when we were working in the morgue, try to scare people ... what a jokester

The only thing this movie has done for me is to remind me to thank God that Al Gore lost the election. While psychotics are running amok trying everything in their power to get nukes, hijack planes and whatever else to kill women and children, Al Gores main concern is the temperature! Holy brain freeze Batman! The guy is a lunatic. I wonder how many people out there caught Al`s campaign symbol when he was running for Prez, the arc with the star? It`s the same symbol as the Energy Star symbol you find on your refrigerator that conserves energy when it`s not in use. This is the kind of mind that we almost had in the Whitehouse. A guy whose main concern was not about terrorism, the economy, health care, or taxes, but conserving energy with your appliances. That was the number one priority above everything else to Al Gore.

Great idea for a tee-shirt.

I don't think a boycott will be necessary.
I have a feeling people will stay away in droves anyway.
I know I'll never watch it.

THANK YOU !

That was well phrased and absolutely true ! thanks a lot, that post made my day.
On the other hand, you should not make fun of Al Gore, after all he created the Internet you are now using.

You seriously believe that people won't be influenced by what they see and hear? Those nightly fiction programs on network and cable that are called "NEWS" seemed to help elect and ,unbelievably, reelect Clinton. People are stupid, but that doesn't mean I'll drink French wine, smoke a Cuban stogie or buy a BMW to celebrate the fact. The sooner this propaganda is relegated to the garbage disposal, the better.

All that says is that you'll be missing some good wine, a good cigar, and a good car. But go ahead, let an anonymous internet poster tell you what to see. Baaaa.
