The noise issue should be sufficient to stop this. Would Christian churches be permitted to ring bells five times a day starting at 5am ? No, they would not. Just maybe inflexible islam needs to adapt to the host culture.
Maybe a better analogy would be Gregorian Chant. And as beautiful as I think it is (as distinct from the caterwauling of the call to prayer by the Muslims), still I wouldn't want to be disturbed from my slumber with a heavy dose of plainsong over a loud speaker.
