How does this "smack of intolerance" because some people dont want to hear this dribble several times a day???? Have you HEARD the "call to prayer"? By broadcasting it to the public they are forcing their beliefs on others....if anyone is "intolerant" its the muslims who feel they need to make THEIR religion heard to EVERYONE...even those not interested.

It smacks of intolerance because of the reasoning behind it. They think church bells are OK because they are pretty but if it's foreign to them they don't want to hear it. IF it's too loud, then I wouldn't want to hear it either. But I'm not going to say I don;t want to hear because I don't believe what they say. I'll say I don't want to hear it because it's too loud. I have heard the call to prayer, and since I don't speak Arabic, it means nothing to me.
