If you think the Mohammedans wanted this just to "call their faithful" to prayer, you're dead wrong.

This is an "in your face" message by the Mohammedan community to America.

Simply read the account of the Mohammedans who were instrumental in getting this ordinance passed (paraphrase): "This is the first step. Today it's here, tomorrow, all of America will be hearing our call to prayer."

The message is: Islam is your future.

Promoting Islamic rituals and customs in the public square. Islamists want secular authorities to permit students in public institutions, for example, to recite the basmallah (the formula "In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate") in classroom exercises. They also want the right to broadcast over outdoor loudspeakers the five daily Islamic calls-to-prayer.
