"It seems that our President has made it LAW that ALL Vietnam Vets, even up to age 65, are now eligible to be drafted back into the military to be sent to the Middle East."I'll go. I'll need some new equipment and theater training, as well as a choice of weapons. An M-14 and a .45 sidearm. I don't want to go into combat armed like a European.

I'll go, if I can be at least O-3, or at lease some type of Warrant Officer. I hear those MP's that work in the prisons over there have a pretty wild time.

My brother-in-law, a liberal (socialist) and is convinced that they will all be rounded up and exterminated a-la Nazi by the right wingers. Ah-er NAZI stands for National SOCIALIST Party.

Hell, I.m only 48 and I doubt I could pass the physical these days...but I guess I could always hold a panzerfaust against the advancing islamic hordes.

I'd give anything to be able to stick around and enjoy all the replies, however I've gotta take big bro to the Morgan Stanley folks and try to show him what's going on financially. Once a fool always a fool. Be back later.

Many older vets would be more than happy to go,myself included. There are many 40, 50 year old vets that are in good physical shape and would embrace the chance to recapture their youth.

Don't feel so bad. My dad believes EVERY DNC talking point. Bush stole the presidency, et al. He even implied the voting machines were rigged in California so Swartzenegger could steal the governorship.
I laughed at him and told him to loosen that tinfoil hat on his head.

"This is what happens when a liberal, who knows nothing about the military and detests the military with all their might, hears the fact that YES, the government can call anyone into service at anytime. Always could."Yup! Its been the "Law of the Land" since the ink was dry on the Constitution. Article I, Section 8: "Congress shall have the power...to raise and support armies..."

I guess I need to count my blessings, I only have to work with people who say such things and that's annoying enough.
