Timothy Rollins - Beneath the Surface

With all the bellyaching going on in Washington and the handwringing over a few prisoners mistreated at Abu Ghraib, it's a wonder any governing at all goes on in the halls of Congress. The fact of the matter is no governing is going on right now. Why? Because of preening by a handful of prima donna congressional types (mostly Democrats) seeking free face time on the evening newscasts, and networks all too willing to be their willing accomplices.

What the hell has become of this country when Iraqi prisoner mistreatment in their own prison in Baghdad by a few soldiers behaving badly gets far more air time here at home than it does over in the Middle East? Yet when a fellow American by the name of Nick Berg gets his head chopped off in what amounts to a torture video by some gutless thugs who aren't man enough to show their faces for fear of going up against some real pros in a poorly made videotape, the networks fear offending the American public by showing the tape.

The fact of the matter is the American public needs to be shown the Nick Berg video - screams and all - in its unedited entirety. They need to be shocked. They need to be offended. They need to be outraged and enraged. They need to pick up arms and defend to the extent necessary and preserve our nation, our homes, even our very way of life. These hypocritical bastards at the networks cannot have it both ways, regardless what they may claim in the name of journalistic integrity, a quality they simply do not possess. This is precisely why the Second Amendment was put into place by the Founding Fathers - as protection from tyrants - and not just tyrants from within. The militia does not just mean the National Guard, as most liberals would want us to think.

The pictures we've seen of misbehaving soldiers at Abu Ghraib seem to have all been taken in one day - kind of like a 'take your camera to work day.' While those guilty have been effectively dealt with by the military judicial system, it must be remembered that the collective misdeeds at Abu Ghraib come nowhere close to the atrocities carried out against American and other coalition forces and associated civilians on a daily basis. The prison at Abu Ghraib doesn't house a collection of misguided or misunderstood children; it houses murderers, terrorists and other serious hardened criminals whose intents are to kill or otherwise undermine the intent of the coalition to bring freedom and a lasting peace to Iraq and allow her people to be self-governing.

To make matters worse, we have the United States Government - most notably the self-serving butt-kissers at the State Department - who live by the rule 'Whose side are we on in addition to our own? - and by that, I don't mean America's. Ever eager to forsake a longtime friend to cross the room and embrace an enemy, State seems to have an agenda that often finds itself at odds with the administration, regardless of which party occupies the Oval Office. Ever so quick to apologize, they, President Bush and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld took the apology too far the moment they apologized the second time. Say you're sorry - only once - then move on. Reagan's instincts were right. He should have gutted the State Department in 1981 when he had the chance. He failed to do because pressure was brought to bear on him, and as a result, we - the American people - were screwed in the process.

America should never be constantly saying it's sorry over and over again. This is no longer the 'feel good and do nothing' administration of Bill Clinton. The only thing Clinton will go down in the history books for is the fact that Monica Lewinsky went down on him and nearly took him down in the process. This is a new America where when a mistake is made we apologize once and ONLY ONCE, learn from the error of our ways, and then move on. We look forward, not backwards. They have a word for people who face the future by looking backwards. They're called fundamentalists.

If the weasels in the liberal mainstream press cannot handle it, then as I said in my last column, they can go straight to hell. I'll be more than happy to furnish them a map. If the wussies on the Capitol Hill cannot handle it, then they should retire and go to hell too, and make room for real Americans who are not afraid to govern with the courage of their convictions and actually listen to their constituents.

The world we live in is no longer safe. We're facing a radical Islamic threat on our shores that can no longer be ignored. Perhaps it was best put by Israeli-born Gene Simmons of KISS fame, when he said during an interview recently with Melbourne (Australia) Radio station 3AW: "Extremism believes that it's okay to strap bombs on to your children and send them to paradise and whatever else and to behead people," he said. Continuing, he added that Islam was a "vile culture" that treated women worse than dogs, that Muslim women had to walk behind their men and were not allowed to be educated or own houses.

"Your dog, however, can walk side by side, your dog is allowed to have its own dog house... you can send your dog to school to learn tricks, sit, beg, do all that stuff - none of the women have that advantage." Simmons went on to say that the West was under threat.

"This is a vile culture and if you think for a second that it's going to just live in the sands of God's armpit you've got another thing coming," he said. "They want to come and live right where you live and they think that you're evil."

Keep it coming, Gene. Nice to have someone calling it like it is! ***

Many of those looking for the face time were notified of this in December and did nothing.

Speaking of apologizing. A while back, I saw a post (I thought it was here) that related why Obama should not be apologizing to the world for America. It had a link that led to a list of American graves on foreign soil with totals of each. Can someone please reply with the link to that web site? I need it to educate a libtard. Thanks in advance.
