Sen. Clinton is extremely popular on her party's left. For that reason, she can get away with not pandering to them on an issue like abortion. Like most politicians, she will move as far to the center as her base will allow, and in this case they are liable to allow a fair amount.
Now, why is Hilliary so popular among leftist Democrats? A big reason is all the flack she gets from FR types. So even though all this Hitlery stuff on FR grates on me, objectively it is moving Sen.
