No rain yet. It's two days late. Our over-paid meteorologists fail again and I have 3/4 acre of lawn food to water in with one lousy sprinkler if it doesn't rain. Damn rain dance last night nearly got me arrested.

It just strikes me as very "unprofessional".
Not presidential. I would never have heard
such things from GWB. It's almost a High
School Level. No it is High School Sophomoric.
In FACT Kerry is the definition of Sophomoric,
according to Merriam-Webster.

Reporters are debating whether to treat it is as on or off the record...As if there is a debate, on how they will treat the comment!

"Suppose W's tumble was caused by bumping into a Secret Service agent. I'd wager W's first words would be "You OK son?""That would make a GREAT them/us political cartoon. One side shows Kerry flat on his face in the snow yelling "You clumsy ^&%#@(*" at the SS guy. The other shows Bush flat on his face on the trail asking your question.

Bush should respond... "well, I don't think it's serious enough to warrent receiving a purple heart!"LOL! Or, "Some guys have gotten Purple Hearts for less."

So Kennedy is allowed to that, but you aren't? LOL! Well, it's easier for him because scum floats.

Sadly, Democrats think he looks cool and would vote for a candidate who prefers to loaf rather than work.

Imagine if President Bush had made some comment about Kerry falling from his bicycle to the effect that the footmen carrying his sedan chair must have tripped and caused him to drop his bejeweled snuff box and put his powdered wig askew?
To: CharlotteVRWC
Bush should respond... "well, I don't think it's serious enough to warrent receiving a purple heart!" Au contraire. Bush should apply for a purple heart ASAP!

Actually, W mistook Helen for an large horny toad. That is really sick! You should NEVER use the words horny and Helen in the same paragraph, let alone in the same sentence.

Don't be surprised if the president does use that line..."It's not like it's a Purple Heart wound or anything" That's a great line!It is funny, BUT if GWB made such a crack the press would report it as if Bush fell and made a gratuitous Kerry slam out of it and they would continue ignoring the jerky Kerry's training wheels snipe therefore portraying Bush as the petty one and Kerry the victim.
Sad but true.

You're right. It was not "in the mountains". But it was off-road and it was hilly.

It was Kerry's chance to be compassionate...a human being. Buf of course it's hard to be something you're not.

The same dumb joke could have been (and probably was) used when Kerry crashed his bike. Much ado about very little.

The same dumb joke could have been (and probably was) used when Kerry crashed his bike. Much ado about very little. The difference is who makes the crack. You would not hear Bush saying that to reporters upon hearing about a Kerry mishap, nor would you hear the press then chortle along *at* the target of their mirth (as I am confident happened here. Look at that idiot Bush, they all laughed knowingly together).
See?
For one who is running for president to make such a "joke" is childish, petty, snotty and graceless.

At least President Bush didn't blame it on a G-D Secret Service agent.
