Let's put it this way. The General who said more troops would be required was canned. The budget man who said it would cost 200 billion was canned. Those who told the President we would be greeted with flowers and the oil wells would gush cash to pay for the war are still around. Why?

And if this was 1943, you snook would be saying, "Why" hasn't hilter been defeated yet. "Why" are the japanese still fighting.

One reason was because those types were proven wrong first with Gulf War I and then in Afghanistan.

There is a certain type of general who always will say more troops are needed. But the kind of problems we are having in Iraq are not obviously, to me anyway, related to troop numbers. In pitched combat, we almost always prevail. That would indicate that we have enough troops but are having problems with fine-tuning the best strategy. War cannot always go smoothly.

Talking about people who are still around, what about George Tenet?

You have specific cites for that contention?

Because the guys who are still around were and are correct. The Iraqis particularly those not Baathist have welcomed us and are working with us. Shenzeki and his like are bootlickers for Clinton. The budget guy was dumped for other good reasons. Do you really think Kerry and The UN will do this better? Get real

Because the president is a puppet.
