Heh heh. If you don't crash once in awhile, you're not riding fast enough.

Bush was mountain biking, on mile 16 of 17. His doc said loose topsoil from recent rain is the likely cause. Kerry was riding in Concord, MA (yep, we're talking bike roads in a city) and fell when his bike "hit a patch of sand" LOL

As the saying goes, "There are two kinds of bikers, those who have fallen and those who will." If you ride enough you will go down. I stay on the roads (am a triathlete). Chances of going down mountain biking is much much higher. Every biker should have a supply of "Second Skin." The stuff is applied to road rash to keep the wound moist while healing. Highly recommended. And if you are really serious you will keep your legs shaved down ala Lance Armstrong.
