WASHINGTON — Many of the worst abuses that have come to light from the Abu Ghraib prison happened on a single November day amid a flare of insurgent violence in Iraq, the deaths of many U.S. soldiers and a breakdown of the American guards' command structure.

Nov. 8 was the day U.S. guards took most of the infamous photographs: soldiers mugging in front of a pile of naked, hooded Iraqis, prisoners forced to perform or simulate sex acts, a hooded prisoner in a scarecrow-like pose with wires attached to him.

It was unclear Friday whether most or all of the new pictures and video published by The Washington Post depicted events on Nov. 8.

Do you get that? Possibly everything happened on a single day, during a time of extreme duress. Reprimands began two days after that single day of overreaction.

And by dragging on the release of pictures for weeks and weeks, the media makes it aappear to be a long long process that went on and on and on....

Gee, maybe I should run and turn on one of the network news shows--I'll bet this will be the lead story. Right?

Well, maybe not...

So in other words, as / usual media standard, information was taken out of context.
PS. WITH THE ENDORSEMENT OF KERRY BY THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF POLICE OFFICERS, WILL BUSH BUMPER STICKERS = POLICE HARASSMENT ON THE ROAD?

When I went through SERE training at Fort Bragg, I got to be tracked by a bloodhound, and also got to get attacked and bit (admittedly while wearing one of those protective arm thingies) by the Moore County, NC Sheriff's dogs. Good training. These sorry bastards aren't even getting bit.

Maybe the soldier is introducing "his little friend" to the little terrorist.

When I went through Army basic in the early seventies we went through a prisoner of war camp and then escape and evasion. We became quite familiar with humiliation and fear. If I hadn't been so hungry and tired the whole time it would have been worse.

MSNBC had some breathless tool, in front of the White House, talking about the new round of photos and videos showing more " atrocities."
After showing a clip from the video showing a soldier slapping one of the prisoners, he said " and the absolutely worst thing the soldiers did to the prisoners was... (drum roll, please ) -making them renounce Islam."
I've seen mothers slap their toddlers in Wal Mart with more force than the soldier used on the Iraqi.
Geez-I thought they had beheaded someone or sliced off someone's ear or gouged out someone's eyes or thrown someone off a 6 story building or castrated someone.
I am sick, sick, sick to death of seeing naked Iraqi buttocks on tv.
You have to wonder if everyone in the antiquated media is gay, it's the only way to explain their fixation on the bare asses.

"And by dragging on the release of pictures for weeks and weeks, the media makes it aappear to be a long long process that went on and on and on...."

Yup. ...and in the minds of viewers, almost as if it's still going on.

They were a handful of perverts. Our leaders repented for what the perverts did a long time ago. The pervs are being prosecuted, because our leaders are honorable. It's all stuff of the past.

And they won't let it go. The intentions of the popular media are very clear now. Hopefully, they'll go overboard enough that all but the retarded in our country see through what they are trying to do by misrepresenting (lying about) a quick occurrence of the past. If the left/liberal media drag it out enough and become obvious enough in their various efforts against our Republican Administration, maybe they'll turn the ignorant public totally against them.

And don't forget the advertisers assisting the media by paying money to them to publish the lies.

I went thru this at Ft Ord in the late sixties. You were told for a fact to expect all kinds of psych treatment, in addition to physical abuse.

The media won't let it go; they will do everything they can to lose this war.

The Army SERE school is now the only school authorized to teach advanced skills for survival, E&E, and resistance to Army personnel (mainly SOF). It replaced all the other Army schools about 1986. It is a quite interesting course. Used to be the chief instructor there for a while. Hungry, tired, cold, confused, scared, in pain--we gave you a taste of all of it, and taught our SOF folks how to handle it without getting themselves or their buddies killed.

The media has overplayed this to the point where even people that don't usually pay attention are starting to see that they are being played for fools by the mainstream media.

Please, CBS/NBC/ABC/ et al, keep it up. Call for Rummy's head. Villify Bush for the abuses. Keep spinning the terrible, horrible United States oppressing the world.

Your days are numbered.
