Who's looking for "special privileges"? This guy had, and has, a God-given inalienable right to defend his life. He exercised it, and now Pizza Hut is firing him for it.

If that's not worth freeping, then nothing is. Until the right to keep and bear arms and right to self-defense routinely bring out howling harpies like us (the way the "right" to engage in homosexual sex does), those of us who support the Second Amendment and the RKBA will remain second-class citizens.

Quislings who side with Pizza Hut on this one are no friends of liberty.

I agree with you.

Way too many employers have these stupid policies, which are a result of court systems not holding miscreants responsible for their actions. The simple fact is, a company's policy is easily ignored and they can't search your person(bags can be checked) so no one is really protected. The person who means harm will ignore the policy AND ignore the law on murder or robbery. Meanwhile the rest of us will be disarmed in the face of such an act or will be fired when we are a FRIGGING HERO!

The use of private regulations is the way the Second Amendment will be made useless. Combine it with the increased technology and soon everywhere you go will be scanning you for weapons and our rights will be lost forever.

I have a carry permit. If my employer new that I was armed I would expect to get fired if I brought by weapon into the office. He knew the rules BEFORE ACCEPTING EMPLOYMENT WITH PIZZA HUT. He was fired for breaking the company policy.

And he exercised it. Good for him. He does not, however, have a God-given inalienable right to work for Pizza Hut.

As others have said, Pizza Hit has little choice in today's legal climate. They are going to get sued for the shooting. They will probably pay the perp's survivors some danegeld to settle it too, since it will be cheaper than fighting it. I don't blame the company for that, since they are required to look out for the shareholders interests in today's legal climate.

I don't believe that the delivery guy will be hired by another delivery company. Its just too much risk, unless its a mom & pop operation. Hopefully some supportive citizen will give him a better job so he doesn't have to deliver pizza.

Also noted that at least one article said he needed to buy another gun. I assume the police confiscated his. Not sure what the policy is there, but when I was in the LA area, LAPD never returned a weapon, regards of source. Now there is a good reason to hold a bake sale.
