Except to us politics freaks, left of centre does NOT always mean left-wing.
To most people, it means 'out of left field', 'off-kilter', wacky, zany, etc.
Context is important, people - and a sense of proportion.
I suspect the ad copy was written by someone for whom politics refers to a clock shaped like a parrot.
They almost certainly meant the phrase in the sense I describe above, rather than being anti-conservative.
