I agree that that those materials shouldn't be shown in schools, either. But on extreme violence, our grandparents were far better than our dope ingesting, Faces of Death leering Baby Boomer generation.
Our soldiers who aren't unduly fascinated with violence (or perverted sex, for that matter) are beating the hell out of an enemy that is, right now. Our soldiers enjoy killing, but they do a much better job of when necessary, with neutral, calm minds on the matter--not sadistic fascination.
The good will defeat the cruel, sooner or later, in any fight.
Oops. Where I wrote, "Our soldiers enjoy killing," that was intended to be "our soldiers don't enjoy, killing." With clear heads and consciences, they do it much better.
The vain and indulgent would worry too much about what Sgt. so-and-so said about them the other day. Such vanities are trained out of our soldiers in initial training.
This is so disengenuous. I think every student in America should see the video. They probably already have. Here in San Diego we had the same situation going on. A girl stuck up for her teacher, who didn't actually show it, but did nothing as a student downloaded it. She said, "we see real footage from the holocaust in our history class. Why is this different?" Ok, guys, tell me why it's different.
