I don't buy that. If a politician voted to legalize murder, no one would give him a pass on that basis.

Given that Church teaching recognizes the unborn as fully human, there is no real difference between that and voting to keep abortion legal.

I agree, it's exactly the same question: How does it necessarily follow that to suffer murder under certain circumstances means to desire murder under those certain circumstances or to say that murder is a virtuous act?
