I'm not sure where you get your information, but as an Englishman living in England it is quite clear that the vast majority of the British are immensely proud of Her Majesty's Forces and the work which they are doing. This actually includes many of those who opposed the principle of invading Iraq. The military has a fine reputation over here apart from the extreme anarcho-leftists.
