BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Pentagon officials Wednesday denied alleged eyewitness reports of a U.S. attack on a wedding party in a remote area of western Iraq that killed innocent civilians.

"Our report is that this was not a wedding party, that these were anti-coalition forces that fired first, and that U.S. troops returned fire, destroying several vehicles, and killing a number of them," a Pentagon spokesman said.

He was responding to a video distributed by The Associated Press showing Iraqi witnesses who said that at least 20 people were killed and five others critically wounded early Wednesday when planes fired on a wedding celebration.

There could be a variety of scenarios...coulda been a wedding and a couple of idiots who were loaded ..heard or saw a helo flying close by and decided to light it up...

Coulda been Fedayeen agents in the party decided to fire on the helo knowing full well it would attack kill civilians and reporters would be standing by

Could have been Iraqis loyal to jiihad who passed themselves off as good guys and got hired by the U.S. who have been waiting for an opportunity to steer a helo into "An Event" set up by al Qaeda or Saddam's loyal agents..

Coulda been a lot of reasons...

No way did the fly fly boys attack a wedding party just for the heck of it...

A wedding at 3:00 AM doesn't seem too likely to me. But, hey, what do I know about mooslims? Is anti aircraft artillary appropriate to fire at their weddings? Inquiring minds like mine would like to know.

who honored Allah by stockpiling machine guns, mortar rounds, ammo, grenades, etc., etc., etc. in the local mosques???

That raised a question with me: Is it possible that some of the blanket wrapped "bodies" were weapons, ammo, etc? (Quick, mohammed, hide the weapons.)

Did you see 'em digging? I've never seen men digging so furiously. The sand was flying worse than a sandstorm. They wanted to get whatever was wrapped in the blankets into the ground asap. They figure of course that they could scream 'desecration' if U.S. wanted to look into the graves.

We have become far too predictable and easy to scam.

Wedding parties are sort of like trailer parks, they cause bombings or tornados.

more likely the terrorist went to the wedding to get someone killed by shooting at US troops hoping we would shoot back. I believe this is a common MO of these terrorists.

Our leftists can't won't see the obvious. The dimocRats and other assorted anti Americans are loving this. As I have stated on many threads: I cannot understand how anyone can hate America so much that they are willing to believe anything spoon fed them by the biased media.

All I know for sure is...... if this was a Same Sex marriage, we are all going to be in a lot of trouble with the Media!!!!

Nah, they probably planned on raping a second grade girl.

After the Revolution in Iran, girls as young as seven were allowed to be married, with the approval of a physician, who could testify to her sexual maturity. But even this minor stipulation was eventually dropped. Jan Goodwin reports on an interview she conducted with an Iranian physican regarding this situation:

"In villages where child marriage is most common, doctors don't even see the girl, she told me. "They just take the family's word that she is physically mature enough to marry. Consequently, we have had very young girls badly injured when they have had what amounts to forced intercourse. Infection sets in and they have died. Only with girls under seven did the Ayatollah say that sex was forbidden."

This problem of pedophila is not specific to Iran. Pedophilia is not an Iranian thing—it's an Islamic thing. Time magazine recently reported that in Afghanistan and Pakistan, they found that two-thirds of second grade girls "were either married or betrothed."

Second grade!

And they are not engaged to boys of the same age in a cute little arrangement ceremony. Typically, they are engaged or married to men four or five times their age. One ten-year-old girl in the camp was engaged to a man of sixty.

Partially due to the fact that these girls have already undergone the sexual mutilation of female circumcision, and partially due simply to their juvenile biological makeup, these children suffer immensely when they are married. In Egypt, honeymoon centers have been built outside communities "so that the screams of the brides will not be heard."
