Hi, I'm Bill O'Reilly. Thank you for watching us tonight.
John Kerry's dilemma, that is the subject of this evening's "Talking Points" memo. A new "Newsweek (search)" poll says President Bush's job approval rating has slipped to 42 percent, the lowest of his tenure in office. However, the same poll says that the president and John Kerry remain tied in their race for the top job.
Now you would think Kerry would be surging ahead because the president is saddled with chaos in Iraq and punishing prices for gasoline, but that's not the case. Why? Two reasons.
First, Senator Kerry's plan to fight terrorism is soft, saying the U.N. is going to help us is a pipe dream. And most Americans don't want to put their safety in the hands of that ineffective organization.

Rehabilitating Kerry's "softness:"
What I find absolutely fascinating about the 911 Commission is the oblique manner in which they are attempting to dismiss the heroic efforts of that week. By attacking the very responders who were killed or injured with incompetence, misjudgments, department infighting, and claiming that more lives could have been saved had they not been so ~feckless~, they are continuing to build on a strategy that the day was not saved by President Bush and his administration and the good people who responded, but on the contrary, the whole ordeal not only could have been prevented but that it was bungled badly.
Some strategy and it could only have come from Clinton.
Destroy the memory and replace it with one of your making.
How Marxist of him.
pook,
You could warn a fella that Derek Z (the "Z" is for "hate whitey") Jackson quotes are included at the link!
Jackson turned me off the Globe forever.
Fortunately for me, I wasn't familiar with Jackson. The good news is that O'Reilly had nothing good to say about him in the least...how could he ;-)
