Texas Poll results: Politican approval Kathy Walt, the governor's press secretary, said Mr. Perry has tackled tough issues such as a $9.9 billion, two-year budget shortfall; high property taxes; and the "Robin Hood" school-funding system.Texas? How can this be?

There was an rumor started in Texas about Perry that though untrue had a long enough run to hurt(the dems discussed it in a public meeting)...It was all over the Internet..and here.
The redistricting and school funding arguments have taken a toll. This state has a lot of yellow dog Dems, dems who vote Republican in federal elections..
In my lifetime the election used to be decided when the dem primary was over.
