ORLANDO, FL - Florida First Lady Columba Bush joined Florida Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings and Republican Party of Florida Chairwoman Carole Jean Jordan to announce the Bush-Cheney '04 Florida "W Stands for Women" Leadership Team.
"George W. Bush has been a solid supporter of the policies and programs that are empowering women in America, and Florida women appreciate his steady leadership on all issues important to our state and nation," stated Bush.
America's 10.1 million women-owned businesses employ 18.2 million people and contribute 3.6 trillion dollars to the national economy. Women-owned businesses are growing at twice the rate of all U.S. firms. President Bush has twice provided tax relief to our nation and returned the economy to a path of growth. In 2004, 111 million families will save an average of $1,586 thanks to tax relief. Tax relief stimulates the economic sector and creates more job opportunities. In March, 337,000 jobs were added and 288,000 jobs were added in April, sure signs of our economy growing stronger.
"The President's leadership on securing tax relief for all Americans is making an impact here in Florida. As someone who has managed a family-owned business, I know just how important these incentives can be," stated Lt. Gov. Jennings. "Here in Florida, and across the country, tax incentives are encouraging more and more women to open businesses, or invest in their current businesses. The outstanding level of female ownership we see in America's economy today is a direct result of the President¹s economic policies. These policies are good for our economy, our families and our nation."
Chairwoman Jordan said, "President Bush's leadership on behalf of women extends beyond our borders. President Bush has been a fierce advocate on behalf of women and children around the world. Thanks to this Administration's defense of our values, our nation is more secure while women and children in Iraq and Afghanistan are enjoying greater opportunity and the promise of a brighter future."
If I understand the double entendre, this is the verbal equivalent of the crotch shots from the Gore 2000 campaign.
