'and was really looked down upon at the time'
I was doing the midday on the air shift for the #1 country music station in Mobile, AL when Hee Haw hit the air. I remember very well how badly it was received by the world of country music. I always enjoyed it from the very first show, but I guess my tastes in country music were just not in time with the times. The late 1960's were a GREAT time for country music! Remember John Wesley Riles and his only hit? Talk about a one-time-wonder!

Have you heard Loretta Lynn's new CD?
Great lyrics, same great voice. But not exactly hard core honky tonk.
