I would be curious to see how this show has aged.

Where oh where are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over and thought I'd found true love
You met another and 'thppt' you were gone.

My experience is that you either loved Hee Haw or hated it. I loved it. Still do, TNN ran it a couple of years ago.

I am not at all ashamed to say I watched this show all the time as a kid in the early 70's.

The writing on Hee Haw was more consistantly amusing than Saturday Night Live ever was, and the musical guests were stellar.

As for how the show has aged, the jokes were old when it first aired :).

I grew up in rural Colorado....unless you were a rancher the country scene was so uncool. Now I'm in my 40s and just about all my favorite artists are country or bluegrass performers.

I remember Hee Haw as being a rural version of Laugh In.

Oh, my God . . . I remember visiting my grandparents in Nacogdoches and having to watch either this or some dog show.

I detest Hee Haw. It utterly lacks entertainment value.

Growing up in South Philadelphia, when I happend along this show, I found it to be strange and frightening.  I would assume that I would find it only slightly less so today.

HEY GRAN-PAW, WHUT'S FER SUPPER?!?!?!?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I can't stand bluegrass and "twang," whatever the scientific term might be, so the music always sets my teeth on edge too.

How can I order my BetaMax copy?

The greatest thing about Hee Haw is that one does not have to censor the show for younger viewers in the house. It is indeed a great family tv time show. I always watched it with my now dearly departed grandpa.

I love Hee Haw! I grew up watching it, Porter Wagner and others in Missouri and Indiana. What a hoot!
