What's the point? To pick your pocket. Insurance benefits, tax breaks, social security benefits, retirement benefits, etc.

What's the point (other than blowing $25 on a piece of paper)?

Same as Rosie, to get their 15 minutes.

Hoggamus, higgamus,
Men are polygamous,

Women monogamous.

Look for employers in MA and in states that recognize these "marriages" to terminate employee healthcare benefits...and then look for Kerry & Clinton to propose national healthcare.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winnah!

To shove it in the rest of our faces.

This is part of the homosexual activists' agenda.

These marriages are for economic gain and to push a political agenda. They also are intended to poke a finger in the eye of the "straight" community.

I guess they equate a license with societal acceptance. Wrong! Most of us still think their behavior is aberrant.

Anybody with half a brain could see that this maneuver was to have someone elses employer pay for benefits for those that did not. Care for AIDS, hepatitis C and other "gay" diseases is forever and expensive and, after all, why should lifestyle changes be required if you can get treatment for "free"?

I was just about to post a similar thought. If the 'right' (barf) to marriage and monogamy aren't why they're getting 'married', then why?

Two big reasons -

#1 - MONEY! Healthcare is ever more expensive and hard to get. And we all get to absorb the higher costs and healthcare rationing. Barf.

and #2 - to make a sham out of marriage, what marriage used to be. Not perfect, by any means, but most treated it as a commitment, even if they failed. Now it's just some sideshow or SNL skit.

I wonder how many bothered with a pre-nupt?

From what I have read, the homosexuals are getting the three-day waiting period and STD/measles blood test waived, why I cannot fathom.

Now that they are married, can they join a Swingers' Club?

perhaps not. the national trend for businesses is currently to include domestic partners in the insurance plans. any "legal" marriage is already covered. perhaps when the charges get too high they will consider eliminating coverage, but it is difficult to take anything away from employees.

But But this can't be...

All I've heard is that all gay marriages are perfect, with 2 committed and loving people unlike those nasty hetrosexual marriages which have abuse, infidelity, divorce etc.

Can it possibly be true that all gays and gay marriages aren't perfect?

What is this world coming too...he says sarcastically

Low-budget conception of marriage. This incredible statement is great PR for the good guys.

They have a long way to go to catch up.

Most of us do - now. But what of the teens debating it in schools (most who disagree are shouted down, even in rural areas) and the group of middle school kids who went to 'witness' gay 'weddings' today in Boston. They cheered when the 'ceremonies' were finished. (searching for link...) Not to mention the 'children' of these unions. We might disagree now, but in a generation or less who will dissent? And those who do, at the rate the changes are being effected at this time, are likely to be charged with hate speech or religious extremism. Already we hear these accusations being tossed around. They want societal legitimacy and acceptance, even if they have to force it down our throats. And we can't just accept and legitimize, we have to like it.

The other 20% cheat in Europe.

gay's are a biological mistake. And a detriment to our country.

Just a minor point here... I propose that we abandon the term "gay" in favor of "homosexual". These people aren't gay, they're usually mad as hell. OTOH "Homosexual" is judgementally neutral and technically accurate.

Having a young Cary Grant come tripping in off the stone balcony through the exquisite french doors wearing his play tuxedo, and claiming "I feel gay" just wrecks the movie. I want the word "gay" back. It was truthlessly misappropriated by homosexual activists in the sixties and I want it back.

Therefore, from now on, please refer to homosexuals as homosexuals, not "gays".

Your attention is appreciated.
