Anybodyed know that the evangalist Ernst Angley is southern when he claps his hand to the invalid's forehead and shouts, "Heee ell!"
Off the subject but I jist gotta share this'un: Poster on LP, ignorantly describing a Kerry speech, "Kerry enervated the crowd." LOL
To: OldBlondBabe
Old time natives of Floyd County, Virginia pronounced the verb wash, as "warsh". In addition, the word, "it", was pronounced "hit". They also referred to "rinse", as "rinch", or "wrench". I've heard older people native to Bath County, VA use the same pronounciation.

WARSH...There's one I haven't heard in awhile. My dad uses that term. My mom doesn't. Both from Detroit(although my dad moved a lot growing up).

One of the best things I even heard in my life was when my dad told me about watching an Ernest Ainsley special one time and he was all up in his healing glory...when this pitiful-looking fellow came up on stage and Ernest came over and asked him, "What is your affliction, my son?" And the fellow said, verbatim, "I cain't heeyur." Pop still laughs out loud when recalling that one. :)

Pronunciations depend on which Southern State you are from.Depends on which part of which southern state. In Florida we can just ignore everything south of Lakeland because that's all up north somewhere.

LOL. Well, yes, I expect he did. He has a similar effect on me, then I yawn and nod off. I gather the poster meant to imply that Kerry, energized the crowd ?

Where did this "acted out" come from. That is a psychologism. There is no such thing as a real emotion or sincere anything. We are always "acting" in "roles" to the psychologist and, by extension, to liberals. Those folks think they are tho only ones who understand anything. Some of them think that therefore they are not acting. Others believe since its all acting then all they have to do to install utopia is change everybody's script.

It is not Deep South. It is...I've been saying "Heidi! Hire you!", pronounced absolutely as written, for years in Bammer and Taynassee.

Southerners are generally far more creative in our use of profanity than other English speakers. "Sheee-yet far" is just the tip of the iceberg.
My personal favorite is "Well, f**k me runnin'."

Is "wear you out" a Southern thing-as in your momma telling you "I'm gonna' wear you out" (spank) if you acted up in church. It must be - I sure heard it growing up! The folks were fixin' to get riled up if I didn't simmer down.
