Maybe it is just me, but I think Honeycutt was bloody stupid for 1) Leaving the scene, and 2) Taking the robber's gun after the fact.

Because of these two really, really bad judgement calls, you can expect him to be charged for, at the very least, manslaughter. And he will be convicted.

He took the gun away after shooting Brown to make sure that Brown did not have any buddies around. See http://www.indystar.com/articles/5/147538-6355-093.html

If it really happened like this, then Honeycutt is going to be in a lot of legal trouble. He shot a disarmed man. I'm not saying that he should be in trouble, just that I expect that he will be.

If he was close enough to disarm the robber, then the robber was close enough to be a risk to the deliveryman, whether or not the robber still had his gun.

The "victim" is Brown (the robber). Honeycutt is still alive, how else is he able to tell his side of the story to the moron journalists?

The last I heard, the news media stated the Delivery guy had a license to carry but his gun had the sn filed off. The bullets in the body came from that gun.

It is obvious with quotes like that as to what happened. Jerome MUST have tried to rob the guy and died in the process. As I read this, I was thinking I would have done and said the exact same thing. Better to lose one's job and face charges than to become another statistic. The law is simply going to have to start stopping some of these muggings with SEVERE punishment or allow people to defend themselves with impunity.

The mistake he made, if he actually did so, was to pick up and move the other man's gun from the scene. Should have stayed there with gun drawn for defense until the police arrived.
