Think a bit 108th LIGHT Infantry....ground pounders LI units dont have organic armored vehicles CONGRESS would have to appropriate the funds and redesignate the units to Mechanized Infantry. Bradleys don't grow on trees and you just can't run down to the Bradley sales store.

So, light infantry is being asked to perform a job they were not trained to perform using vehicles that where not designed for the task?

I was at the DLA depot west of Texarkanna recently and there were 300-500 Armored Personnel Carriers sitting in a field since the Gulf war.
There are many under employed employees in the area that could have been working on readying these units for the types of combat we have been experiencing for the last decade.

But all our paratroopers deserve armored vehicles.
